Staying at the forefront of the movement
To champion sustainable design in all our projects, and beyond into the industries and communities where we work, SERA has a dedicated in-house multi-disciplinary team that we call “SuRG,” short for Sustainability Resources Group. With a diverse set of skills not found in traditional architecture firms, the SuRG team leads our integrated design approach, providing deep expertise in green building practices, documentation, and policy — supplementing and expanding the knowledge of our entire staff. Our clients benefit from a holistic design process yielding long-term economic benefits, healthier people and stronger communities.
SERA is continually analyzing, testing and implementing sustainable design innovations. Our work on district systems is exploring how local-scale infrastructure for renewable energy and water can be shared by neighboring buildings for optimal performance and shared economic benefit. We are advancing the practices of daylighting, finding new ways to meld interior and exterior environments for workplace efficiency and comfort. We curate a catalog of healthy materials to promote the long-term wellbeing of the end-users of our buildings. Being deeply engaged in these pursuits, and more, has solidified SERA’s reputation as a national leader in the pursuit of sustainable design.
