SERA Architects and Mogavero Notestine Associates (Sacramento) are collaborating on this 8-story, Z shaped building, which consists of ground-floor retail and 150 studios/one bedroom units of affordable housing and support facilities for low income individuals. The project is located at 7th and H Streets in downtown Sacramento and has a strong focus on building community: community within the building itself, rebuilding a community in the neighborhood and connecting wider communities. Its prominent location means it will act as ‘gateway’ and catalyst to future development, as well as providing much needed homes and facilities. The building will be highly sustainable with energy efficient systems, high performance envelope and photovoltaic roof panels with the intent to provide a healthy and durable environment and low operating costs. The project is currently in the design development stage. |
